Consert Expands Staff in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (August 13, 2012) – San Antonio-based Consert Inc., an intelligent energy management company that provides the most advanced high-value load management suite available in the marketplace, has named a 30-year senior level professional as Director of Supply Chain and Manufacturing.

George Robert Alford has been named to the newly created position by Consert CEO and President Jack Roberts. “Rob is a results-oriented leader and manager who has extensive manufacturing and supply chain experience,” said Roberts. “Rob’s knowledge, vision and leadership will be an asset to us as we continue the roll-out of our technology to homes and small businesses with CPS Energy and to our partners across the country.”

In his new position, Alford will focus on compressing and streamlining the entire product supply chain beginning with raw material procurement and ending with shipment to Consert’s customers. This will entail improving each and every aspect of the process to eliminate redundancy and waste to ensure nimble and effective response to customer changes and demands.

Prior to Consert, Alford was global sourcing and supply chain executive for the Bussmann Division of Cooper Industries, manufacturer of electrical products and tools in St. Louis. He was an integral member of the global sourcing and supply chain team that helped the division achieve double digit profitability by effectively leveraging spend and consolidating the supply base. He also was a member of the integration team for the division’s largest acquisition that doubled its revenues while expanding the group’s product offering.

Alford received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in Civil Law and Procedure from the Nashville School of Law. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with an M.A. in Business Management and a B.S. in Industrial Technology. He is a certified practitioner in MTM-1, MTM-2, MSD, VA/VE and Six Sigma Lean.
